Greystoke Primary School

Working together to provide a safe, happy and stimulating environment so that all our children reach their full potential.

We have had a really busy sporting start to our Autumn term.

Cross Country

We have already had three cross country races at Vipers Rugby club in Blaby and one at Prestwold Hall. Our children have done us proud by not only being super competitive but also compassionate. One of our team stopped mid-race to help a member of another school who had fallen over. What a great ambassador to our school who obviously listened carefully to the Brownlee brothers story in  one of our assemblies.

Tag Rugby

Some our Keystage 2 children represented Geystoke  in a DSAT Tag Rugby tournament.

Our football season started with the girls competing in the Danone cup. They did a great job as this was the first time they had played together. We will be having our first league game on 15th November against Glen Hills.

Year 3/ 4 girls are representing Greystoke in a DSAT football tournament on October 28th and will also be invited to a tournament at Brockington on 18th November following the successful Football and Fitness lunchtime sessions.

The boys have fixtures arranged for both cup and league games.

The Year 6 boys play their first cup game on October 27th away at Glen Hills and the Year 4/5 boys will play their first game on 8th November at home against Badgerbrook.

Table Tennis

A team of girls and a team of boys competed in our first ever table tennis tournament on October 25th and did a great job. Their confidence grew as the tournament progressed and were unlucky not to make it on to the semi finals.

Quick Sticks

A team of 11 children competed in a Quick Sticks tournament at Brockington on October 26th.

A team of year 5/6 children are busy practising for a dance-Off at Kibworth Primary school and although this has been postponed will be taking place sometime after Christmas.

Sports Ambassadors

Four of our children have begun their playmaker award at Countesthorpe Leysland Community College today. More details to follow about what they did and how they will be helping our school move forward with sport.

We look forward to many more sporting opportunities this year and encourage all children to volunteer to take part and have fun.
